Timothy Voges (CW, 1993) is a visual artist,
based in the Netherlands.

He transforms images from vintage magazines
into serie scenes by adding color, cutting out
specific elements, and removing backgrounds.

This creates a sense of the unknown and evokes
feelings of unease. These altered fragments
become moments frozen in time, removed from
their original context and placed in a quiet,
sometimes ominous, setting.

This sensation is called ‘das unheimliche,’ or the
uncanny, where the familiar becomes unsettling.
By crafting narratives of silence and stillness.

I provide an escape from today’s chaos and
invite viewers to find their own interpretations
in the open-ended stories.
